NEFIN is proud to partner with San Miguel Brewery Hong Kong Ltd. (SMBHK) in successfully delivering a major rooftop solar project at their brewery in Yuen Long, Hong Kong! ☀️
This solar installation, developed and fully funded by NEFIN, boasts a total installed capacity of 2.026 MWp across three buildings, with the Packaging building housing the largest array. The system is expected to generate approximately 2,360 MWh of clean electricity annually — enough to potentially offset over 928,673 tons of CO₂ emissions, equivalent to planting nearly 23,700 trees. 🌳🌎
As the only international beer company operating a large-scale brewery in Hong Kong, SMBHK holds a distinguished place in the region’s brewing history. Since first entering the market in 1914, San Miguel has grown into a publicly listed company. SMBHK offers a diverse portfolio of beer brands brewed locally at its Yuen Long facility, serving both domestic and international markets.
The collaboration between NEFIN and SMBHK is anchored in a long-term solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), reflecting San Miguel’s strong commitment to sustainable development and environmental responsibility. By integrating renewable energy into its operations, SMBHK is actively addressing climate change, improving energy efficiency, and reducing the carbon footprint of its products in line with global industry best practices.
