Job Summary
Project Engineer plays a vital role in the planning, design, and execution of engineering projects. They are responsible for coordinating various aspects of projects, including design, procurement, construction, and quality assurance. Project Engineers work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed successfully and meet all requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and design of engineering projects, including developing project specifications, drawings, and schedules
- Coordinate project activities and resources to ensure timely and efficient project execution
- Prepare or review engineering designs, calculations, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, quality, and safety compliance
- Assist in resolving technical issues, conflicts, and discrepancies that arise during the project lifecycle
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address project challenges and ensure project success
- Maintain project documentation, records, and files in an organized and accessible manner
- Participate in project meetings, presentations, and reviews to provide updates on project status, issues, and risks
- Support project managers in preparing project reports, budgets, and proposals as needed
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- 1-3 years’ experience in engineering project management or project engineering roles, preferably in a solar industry
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of engineering principles, standards, and practices
- Proficiency in engineering design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or PVsyst
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality, accuracy, and safety in all aspects of project work
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools, such as Microsoft Project, is a plus
